Does Carro Support Backorders or Preorders?

At this time, Carro does not support syncing pre-order or backorder status between retailers and suppliers. Pre-orders are typically powered by custom themes or third-party Shopify apps, which fall outside of Carro’s sync capabilities.

Workaround

If you’d like to offer pre-orders, there’s a partial option available:

  • The supplier can enable “Continue selling when out of stock” in Shopify.

  • The retailer can then update the product’s title or description to indicate that it’s a pre-order.

Note: This workaround may confuse customers, since inventory tracking and availability aren’t clearly reflected. Many retailers choose not to sell pre-orders for this reason.
