Flat Rate Shipping Explained

The Flat Rate Shipping tool allows suppliers to set shipping fees and free shipping thresholds for items they sell.

  • Suppliers: set your shipping rates and thresholds.

  • Retailers: review and approve supplier shipping rates.

    • Once approved, Carro can automatically create a new Shopify shipping profile to ensure the correct amount is charged to customers.

Note: At this time, Flat Rate Shipping applies only to new partnerships. To apply rates to existing partnerships, please contact Carro Support at support@getcarro.com.


For Suppliers: How to Set Shipping Rates

  1. In the left-hand navigation column, click the gear icon.

  1. Under Settings, click Supplier.

  1. Set your rates. Make sure to check the box to enable the shipping rate.

  1. Click "Save" & "I understand".

Tip: Suppliers who charge $0 for U.S. shipping or less than $5 tend to attract the most retailers.


Flat Rate Shipping FAQ

1. How do I apply my shipping rates to existing partners?
Contact your partner via email (from the contact information in your Partners tab) to request shipping payment. Once the retailer approves, forward the agreement to support@getcarro.com so we can enable shipping for that partnership.

2. Can suppliers set a free shipping threshold?
Yes. Suppliers can set free shipping thresholds for both domestic and international orders.

3. Is the free shipping threshold based on the total cart value or only the supplier’s products?
The threshold is based only on the value of the supplier’s products in the customer’s cart.

4. As a supplier, can I block international orders?
Yes. Leave the international shipping fields blank to prevent international customers from purchasing your products.

5. Does this require the retailer to have a particular setup?
No. When a retailer adds their first product from your listing in Carro, they will be presented with your rates. Once approved, Carro automatically creates a new Shopify shipping profile so shipping costs are passed to the customer.

6. Can shipping be adjusted on a per-partnership basis, or must it be the same for all?
Yes, but the agreement must be arranged outside of Carro (via email). Forward the agreement to Carro Support and we’ll set up the custom rate.

7. Can suppliers collect $0 for shipping but still show a shipping method?
Yes. Enter 0 as the amount and add a shipping description.

8. Can suppliers set more than one rate for domestic or international orders?
No. Only one domestic rate and one international rate can be set.

9. Is the partnership revenue split based on the item price plus shipping?
No. Shipping is calculated separately. The revenue split is based only on the product price paid by the customer.
